BEFORE COLOR GRADING ( ALREADY TRIMMED )
AFTER COLOR GRADING
EDITING PROGRESS
First, I imported my video footage. I then trimmed the video to a total length of 35 seconds. I achieved this by using the Ripple Edit Tool to precisely cut down the original minute-long clip to my desired 35-second segment, automatically closing any gaps and ensuring the rest of my timeline shifted accordingly.
Next, I focused on color grading. To achieve this, I used an Adjustment Layer, which I placed above my video clips in the timeline. This allowed me to apply color corrections non-destructively to all the underlying video.
When color grading, I specifically used yellow tones through the curves section in Color panel to set the mood or aesthetic. Before applying any color grading, I ensured that the white and black levels in my footage were properly balanced and acceptable, as this is crucial for accurate and effective color adjustments.
EEA Shooting Production
As part of a group production shoot, where the storyboard was sourced from Everything Everywhere All at Once, I held dual responsibilities. I contributed to lighting setup and was in charge of sound, specifically ensuring high-quality recording and balanced audio levels.

2. Editing Process
In this trailer, I first focused on creating the trailer's storyboard which as follows :
Part 1: The Initial Spark/Connection
1. SHOT 4 (MS, W leads E while E hesitates): Start with them together, E hesitating, but W is leading. This establishes their initial bond or interaction.
Sound: A gentle, slightly melancholic musical note.
2. SHOT 4 (MS, W holds E's face and looks into her eyes): This is the most intimate moment in the storyboard.
Dialogue: Fade in W's line: "You were incredible." (from Shot 4) as a voiceover. This makes the connection feel significant.
Sound: Music swells slightly, then a glitch sound effect, hinting at disruption.
TEXT PLACEMENT 1: After W says "You were incredible," as the glitch sound happens.
Text: "WHAT IF..."
Rationale: This immediately poses a question about the preceding moment, hinting that this connection might be fragile or not what it seems.
Part 2: The Disruption/Chaos (The "Forgetting" Event)
SHOT 3 (Tight M.S., W elbows the guard and whips his pouch bag): JARRING CUT. Hard, sudden sound effect for the punch. "Ouch!" from the guard (Shot 3). This is the explosion of chaos that causes the "forgetting."
Sound: Music cuts out briefly, replaced by aggressive, disorienting sound effects.
SHOT 1 (CU to MS, W head snaps back, and back to conscious): Quick cut after the punch.
Sound: Disorienting, high-pitched ringing or a whoosh.
TEXT PLACEMENT 2: Immediately after Shot 1 (W snaps to consciousness), on a black screen or quickly over the next shot.
Text: "...IT WAS GONE?"
Rationale: This answers the "WHAT IF..." question, directly hitting at the loss of memory or connection.
For the grading, I used light hues like pink and yellow. A gentle, living atmosphere fosters the happier, more connected sections. I also used white transitions when things were going well or felt a little dreamlike. Between cuts, they simply give everything a smooth, bright feel. The words appear on the screen during these segments, also making them lighter so that everything matches.
There's a specific transition where I used a track matte. Basically, I had the blue and red background colors on one layer, and my 'GET READY' text on another. I then used the text layer as a mask for the colors. This makes it so you see the blue and red inside the letters of 'GET READY', instead of just a solid colored text, giving it a cool, dynamic, portal-like feel.
However, I progressively darkened the color grading as things became more intense and eerie, particularly with the "forgetting" concept. It simply heightens the sense of tension and mystery in everything. I also used black transitions at the end for those startling scenes or when the action is really tense.
