Research

Mr. Hafiz mentioned how Task 2 is more focused on the composition aspect which would be crucial in understanding the storyline from an audience perspective. He asked us to provide more research on famous films like Ghibli or other animated shows to understand how background can uplift a character ad its story.

Because of that, I turn to interest to inquire more on the composition that I wanna do. In my mind, I have already thought of changing my character to a bunny so I go for looking some background that interests me which from this selection, shows a unique set of a cosmic background.

Ideation

After compiling all those ideas, I came up with a sketch. I was told that my composition was a bit flat and has yet to connect with worldbuilding from just this look. Because of that, I decided to focus less son the details to focus more on the composition quality.

Processs

I had a hard time in Adobe Illustrator this time because my Illustrator kept crashing and I had lost some edits over the way.

I was focused on trying to get my details and edits back on track. However, in the process, I realized later on that my composition from the start had been awfully coordinated to the point it looked very flat and one-dimensional-sided. I think particularly, it's the hourglass planet that clashes with the composition, even thought it is a crucial part of the story.  

I decided my best to refute the situation using Pathfinder and tried m best to create a smoother final result.

Story/World building

Lunaris, a small, white rabbit Pokémon, dwells within the celestial Hourglass Nebula. This enigmatic nebula, shaped like an hourglass, is filled with stardust and cosmic energy, granting Lunaris unique abilities.

Lunaris is a gentle, curious Pokémon, forever exploring the cosmos. Its connection to the Hourglass Nebula makes it a powerful and mystical creature.

Reflection

I'm quite disappointed with the outcome of my Adobe Illustrator project. Despite dedicating two weeks to it, the final result didn’t meet my expectations. It seems like I still have a lot to learn about navigating the software and utilizing its full potential.

One major issue I encountered was the frequent crashing of Illustrator. This significantly hindered my workflow and added unnecessary stress to the project. I need to investigate the root cause of these crashes and find solutions to prevent them from recurring.

Moving forward, I plan to focus on improving my Illustrator skills. I'll spend more time practicing tutorials, experimenting with different techniques, and seeking guidance from more experienced designers. Additionally, I'll consider using traditional sketching methods ( especially on the composition aspect ) to develop initial ideas before transferring them to digital format. I am determined to learn from my mistakes and strive for excellence in future projects.
